Description

The Tudor Edwards Scapula Retractor is used to pull back soft tissue around the shoulder blade during surgery. It has a broad and angled blade at one end and a long handle with a curved and rounded end. The inner edge of the blade has teeth that are really helpful for holding the tissue in place.

The instrument measures 20 cm (8″) in length. Its blade measures 50 mm × 45 mm. The blade turns sharply away from the shaft, forming a deep curve, while the handle remains long enough to be held outside the operative area.

The toothed edge runs along the curved lower part of the blade. Its broad surface gives the surgeon room to position the retractor against the tissue around the scapula. The handle has a smooth and somewhat flattened profile through the middle and curves upward at the end.

This retractor is used in scapular and shoulder surgery, including procedures where the shoulder blade needs to be exposed. It holds soft tissue back so the surgeon can work around the bone. The toothed blade edge helps maintain its position during retraction.

Made from surgical stainless steel, the instrument is intended for repeated use after cleaning and sterilization. During quality inspection, the blade teeth, curved working end, handle, and surface finish are checked for irregularities before packing.

The Tudor Edwards Scapula Retractor has a 20 cm handle and a 50 × 45 mm toothed blade. Its angled working end and curved handle make it suitable for holding tissue aside during procedures involving the scapula and surrounding shoulder area.
