Description
The Warwick James Elevator is a fine oral surgery elevator used for loosening and lifting teeth or roots during extraction procedures. It measures 16 cm / 6¼” in length and is available in three patterns: straight, left, and right. The instrument has a slim working end, a short shank, and a broad flat handle that sits comfortably in the hand.
The three patterns have the same general shape but differ at the working end. The straight pattern runs directly from the shank, while the left and right patterns have a short angled blade. The working end is small and rounded, with the curved versions bending to one side rather than having the sharp triangular shape seen on some other dental elevators.
The flat handle is noticeably wider than the shaft and has softly rounded edges. It extends almost the full width of the instrument and tapers slightly toward the neck. The short blade keeps the working end close to the shank, while the left and right designs give the operator a choice of direction when approaching the tooth or root.
These elevators are used to loosen teeth from the periodontal ligament before removal. The curved patterns can be used around the mesial or distal aspects of a tooth, while the straight pattern is used in a more direct approach. They are also used for lifting retained roots and in some extraction procedures involving deciduous teeth and molars.
The surgical stainless steel construction gives the elevator a firm body with a smooth metal surface for repeated clinical use. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. Our quality inspectors examine the working end, blade alignment, shank, handle shape, surface finish, and overall construction before the instrument is packed.
The Warwick James Elevator comes in straight, left, and right patterns, all measuring 16 cm / 6¼”. With its small rounded working end, short shank, and broad flat handle, it has the simple construction associated with this style of dental elevator and can be selected according to the direction and area of the extraction.
