Description

The Yasargil Bayonet Tumour Grasping Forceps are designed for controlled grasping and manipulation of tissue during microsurgical and neurosurgical procedures. The flat-handled bayonet design keeps the hand away from the direct line of sight, which is useful when working through a small or deep operative field. The forceps are available with different jaw styles so the working end can be matched to the type of tissue being handled.

Three jaw patterns are available: spoon-shaped, flat serrated, and curette toothed. The spoon-shaped jaws provide a broader surface for grasping, while the flat serrated jaws add texture for a firmer hold. The curette toothed version has more defined teeth for securing tissue when a stronger grip is needed.

Each jaw style is offered in 3 mm and 5 mm tip sizes, with an overall length of 22.5 cm (8½”). The smaller 3 mm option is suited to more confined working areas, while the 5 mm tip provides a wider grasping surface. Keeping the same length across the different jaw options makes it easier to select the working end without changing the overall handling characteristics.

In neurosurgical procedures, these forceps can be used to grasp, hold, and manipulate tissue within a restricted field. The bayonet offset is especially useful under magnification because the instrument shaft reaches the target while the hand remains behind the working area. The different jaw profiles also give the surgeon more control when dealing with tissue that varies in texture and consistency.

The instrument is manufactured from premium surgical-grade stainless steel for repeated surgical use and sterilization. The selected jaws should be checked for proper alignment, clean contact, and any damaged or distorted teeth before use. The shaft and flat handle should also be inspected, followed by the appropriate cleaning and sterilization process.

With a 22.5 cm (8½”) length and 3 mm or 5 mm tips, the Yasargil Bayonet Tumour Grasping Forceps offer three jaw patterns—spoon-shaped, flat serrated, and curette toothed—for controlled tissue handling in microsurgery.
