Description

The Brompton Erector Spinae Retractor is used to lift and hold the erector spinae muscle during spinal surgery. It has two prong blades at the working end and a long, hollow handle. The handle is broad and rounded, with a smooth surface for a secure hand grip.

The instrument measures 20 cm (8″) in length. Its two prongs curve outward at the tips, forming a forked end that can be placed around tissue. The shaft is narrow compared with the handle, keeping the working end slim when positioned in the surgical field.

The prongs are curved rather than straight, and their tips turn slightly inward. This shape helps the surgeon lift muscle away from the underlying area without using a broad blade. The hollow handle has a solid-looking outer grip, with the opening running inside the handle.

During spinal surgery, the erector spinae muscles are retracted to expose the vertebrae and the structures beneath them. This instrument is used to lift the muscle and keep the surgical approach clear while the procedure is carried out.

Made from surgical stainless steel, the retractor is intended for repeated use after cleaning and sterilization. Before dispatch, our quality inspectors check the prongs, curved tips, shaft, handle, and surface finish for defects or rough edges.

The Brompton Erector Spinae Retractor combines a 20 cm hollow handle with two curved prongs for muscle retraction during spinal procedures. Its forked working end is designed for lifting tissue while maintaining access to the operative area.
