Description
The Knot Pusher is a surgical instrument used to guide and tighten surgical knots when tying sutures inside the body, including during minimally invasive procedures. It has a long, straight shaft with a small working end and a flat handle with several circular openings for grip. The shaft measures 5 mm in diameter, and the range includes several lengths to suit different access requirements.
Three versions with an open-end tip are available in lengths of 25 cm, 30 cm and 32 cm. A fourth model measures 33 cm and has a closed-end tip. The main difference between these versions is the shape of the working end and the overall length. The long shaft allows the knot to be guided towards the required position while the surgeon works from outside the surgical site.
The open-end design has a small notched working end, while the closed-end pattern has a rounder, enclosed opening. These different tip shapes provide two ways to engage the suture knot. The choice depends on the knot and the technique being used. Both patterns retain the same slim shaft profile, with the working end kept small in relation to the length of the instrument.
The handle is flat and elongated, with a row of circular grip openings along its surface. This shape gives the fingers several places to rest while the instrument is positioned and moved. The shaft runs straight from the handle to the tip, without a curved section or bulky joint along its length. Its 5 mm diameter is consistent across the listed models.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel. Before dispatch, each knot pusher passes through our quality inspection process. Our team checks the working tip, shaft, handle openings and surface finish for damage or irregularities before packing the instrument for delivery.
The Knot Pusher is available in four configurations: open-end models measuring 25 cm, 30 cm and 32 cm, and a closed-end model measuring 33 cm. All versions have a 5 mm shaft and a long, straight profile for guiding surgical knots into position.
