Description

The Hook Probe is designed for probing and examining tissue during arthroscopic procedures. It has a 24 cm (10″) overall length, giving the working tip enough reach while keeping the handle outside the immediate working area. The narrow shaft ends in a small curved hook that can be guided carefully around the tissue being examined.

The working end has a 2.5 mm tip with a blunt hook profile. Its curved shape gives the user a defined point for probing, lifting, and gently manipulating tissue rather than cutting it. The small tip keeps the working end relatively unobtrusive when working through a restricted arthroscopic access point.

A graduated tip is marked along the shaft close to the hook. These markings provide a visual reference as the instrument is introduced and positioned, which can help the user judge how far the working end has been advanced. The markings are placed on the narrow metal section rather than on the handle, keeping them close to the area where depth is being assessed.

The shaft remains straight for most of its length before turning into the small hook at the distal end. This gives the instrument a direct path into the working area, while the black handle provides a broader surface for the hand. Its shaped grip allows the probe to be rotated or repositioned with small movements when examining tissue.

The combination of a 24 cm (10″) length, graduated shaft, and 2.5 mm hooked tip makes the instrument suitable for controlled probing where visibility and careful positioning are important. The blunt hook can also be used to gently move tissue aside or check the surface and edges of a structure.

The metal construction is intended for repeated professional use and sterilization. Each instrument should be carefully inspected for quality, including the hook, graduated markings, shaft alignment, handle connection, and overall finish. The working tip should be checked before use for bending, sharp damage, or other changes that could affect controlled handling.

The Hook Probe provides a slim, graduated design for controlled probing and tissue manipulation during arthroscopic procedures.
